NEEDLE FELT A SUNRISE PAINTING WORKSHOP AT TERRA WATERDOWN
Capture the tranquil beauty of a morning glow using fluffy wool and barbed needles! In this hands-on workshop, fibre artist Cathy Disbrow will guide you step-by-step through creating your own vibrant 6” x 4” wool landscape painting. Discover how to “paint with wool” as you layer dreamy pastel skies, sculpt rolling hills, and capture luminous light reflections across moving water onto a wool felt canvas.
What You Will Learn:
- Needle felting fundamentals, tool handling, and safety
- Blending and layering wool roving to create soft colour gradients and atmospheric depth
- Techniques for realistic shading, sharp foregrounds, and glowing highlights
- Finishing methods to ready your piece for framing or display
No prior felting or drawing experience is needed. Cathy provides hands-on, individualized guidance throughout the session to ensure you leave with a finished piece of fibre art you’ll be proud to hang on your wall.
